Eliminates soreness
within two or three days

I have had cold sores around my mouth most of my adult life. I probably get them a half dozen times per year and the onset is usually associated with a cold or stress.

The best treatment that I have found is Abreva. If I really rub in Abreva early enough at the onset of a sore, I can avoid having it break out into a lesion. It does seem though that it is still “sore” for about ten days.

This year I started using FirstSignal and Abreva when I have a cold sore. For the last three incidents, I have found that I can eliminate even the soreness within two or three days by using both treatments together.

About a year and a half ago, I started getting cold sores on my lips every three months.

The first two times, my doctor prescribed Acyclovir (200mg) and docosanol. Those didn't seem to work and my symptoms went away after about 8-9 days.

The next time, my doctor gave me a stronger dose of Valacyclovir (1g) and Valtrex (2000 mg) with docosanol. However, it didn't appear to work either and my cold sores went away after about 9 days.

The fourth time (about 3 months later) I got another cold sore, I applied the docosanol and sprayed FirstSignal under my tongue 2-3 times. The next morning, I woke up and the cold sores were completely gone.

I haven't had a cold sore in the past 5 or 6 months.
